 PRONOUN IN ENGLISH GRAMMAR & ITS TYPES

Pronoun – Pronoun is a word used in place of a noun

Ex – he, she, it, you, your, I, we, they, his her, my, their our  …..

Kinds of pronoun –

1.Personal pronoun 

Singular              –        Plural 

I  , my ,mine ,me –  we,ours,us 

You – you, your

He,she,it,his,her,him,its   – they,their ,theirs

 Ex- I am going

He is a boy

They are playing

We play

It is fine

You are a good boy.

1.Demonstrative pronoun – this, that, these, those

This is a book

That is toy

These books are mine

Those books are yours

3.Distributive pronoun– each,(प्रत्यैक ) either,(दो में कोई एक ) neither, (दो में कोई नहीं ) these words are always singular

Ex- Each people gets a prize

Either of the boys got chance

Neither of the boys got a chance.

4.Relative pronoun – who,(जो ) which,(जो ) whose (किसका )

This is the boy who works hard

This is the book which is good for reading

These are the boys who work hard

These are the girls who read well

5.Reflexive pronoun –myself, ourselves, himself, herself, themselves, itself ( self – own) (अपना के सम्बन्ध में उपयोग होता है )

I hurt myself (मैंने अपने आप को दुःख पहुंचाया )

He hurt himself ( उसने अपने आप दुःख पहुंचाया )

She hurt herself

They hurt themselves

The horse  hurt itself

6.Interrogative pronoun –who. What, which, whose whom

Who are you? (तुम कौन हो। )

What do you want? (तुम क्या चाहते हो। )

Whose is this house? (यह घर किसका है।  )

Which class do you read? (तुम किस वर्ग में पढ़ते हो।  )

Whose is this pen? (यह किसका पेन है। )

7.Indefinite pronoun – one,(कोई एक ) none,(कोई नहीं ) some,( कुछ ) somebody(कोई भी ) many,(बहुत ) few,(कुछ ) all, (सभी ) anybody,(कोई एक ) nobody(कोई नहीं )

One can do this work

None of the boys do this work

Some are born great

Some milk is there

Somebody has stolen my book

Nobody was there

Many people know this matter

All go there to save her.

Few people are there.

8.Possessive pronoun – my,मेरा  our, हमारा  their,उनका  your,तुम्हारा  mine,मेरा  her,(उसका -लड़की के लिए ) his( उसका – लड़का के लिए )

This is my book

That is your pen

We play our natural game

They are going to their house.
