X-Ray-( X- Radiation )- Electromagnetic radiation . X-Ray was discovered in 1895 by the German scientist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen who name x radiation( X- standing for unknown).

CR – Computed Radiography

DR – Digital Radiography

OPG– Orthopantomogram – An panoramic X-ray use to the image of the upper and lower jaw including the teeth. ( Fracture, Dislocation, Infection in teeth)

BMD Scan- / Dexa Scan -Bone Mineral Density Scan – Measure how much calcium and other types of minerals are in an area of our body. This test helps our health to detect osteoporosis and predict our risk of bone fracture.

Osteoporosis – a condition in which bone becomes weak and brittle ( Hard but easily broken)

CT SCAN – Computed Tomography Scan  – It uses a combination of X-Ray & computer to create images of our body organs, bones, and other tissue in cross-sectional view axial, coronal, sagittal view, It shows more detail than  X-Ray system  (CT scan discovered by Godfry Housenfield on 1972.)

CAT SCAN – (Computerized axial Tomography Scan)

PET SCAN – (Positron Emission Tomography Scan) is an imaging test that can help to reveal the metabolic or bio chemical function of our tissue and organs. The PET Scan uses a radioactive drug( tracer) to show both normal & abnormal metabolic activity.

MRI – Magnetic Resonance Imaging – MRI uses a large magnet and radio waves to look at organs and structure of the body, MRI scan to diagnose a variety of images like a torn ligament and tumors in the body parts.

USG – (Ultrasonography/Sonography) USG is high frequency sound waves to seen the internal organs of the body.mainly use to abdomen & pelvic cavity, reproductive system and fetus of pregnant women.(1956 Ion Donald & Tom Brown )

AUDIOMETRY  TEST– Use to test our ability of hearing.

TMT – Tread Mill Test It is a cardiac stress test, measuring hearts’ ability to sustain stress given by exercise.

PFT– (Pulmonary Function test) This test shows how well the lungs working.

BARA TEST – Brain Evoked Response Auditory test. (child) for a hearing problem

ECG – (Electrocardiography)Records  electrical activity of our heart rate❤️ at rest.

EEG -( Electroencephalography) This test  detects abnormalities in our brain cell or electrical activity of our brain though electrodes.

EMG – Electromyography – measures muscles’ response or electrical activity in response to nerve stimulation of muscles.

NCV/NCS–  Nerve Conduction Velocity / Nerve Conduction Study- Use to measure how fast an electrical impulse moves through our nerve.NCV can identify nerve damage.

KUB – Kidney Ureter Bladder- X-ray diagnostic test to detect kidney stones and diagnose urinary tract disorders

IVP – Intravenous Pyelogram – (X-Ray Procedure use to look at kidneys and ureters.)

RGU – Retrograde Urethrogram- (X-Ray Procedure use to study the urethra.)

MCU – Micturating Cysto Urethrogram-(X-Ray procedure used to evaluate any abnormalities in the bladder neck.

OM VIEW – Occipitomental view  (PNS- Para nasal sinuses ) open mouth

WATER VIEW – PNS  ( for fracture )

DECUBITUS VIEW – Chest lateral view

SKYLINE VIEW – For patella (X-Ray Kneecap)

AP View – Anteroposterior view

PA View – Posteroanterior view

FROG VIEW– For  Hip joint

TM JOINT – Temporomandibular join

MRCP – (Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography) – It is an MRI exam that detects detailed images of the hepatobiliary and pancreatic systems including liver, gall bladder, bile duct, pancreas, and pancreatic duct.

ERCP -Endoscopic retrograde Cholangiopancreatography
